World Known Precision held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in Machouhou Industrial Park, Chiayi County, on the morning of February 11. Chairman Kevin Lu presided over the ceremony, which was attended by distinguished guests including Secretary Lin Feng-zhou from the Chiayi County Government's Economic Development Department, Director-General Dai Guang-zong of the Chiayi Industrial Development Association, and Mayor Yan Pei-yu of Lucao Township. The event marked a significant milestone in the company's journey toward smart manufacturing.
With an investment of NT$600 million, this expansion represents the company's largest plant investment to date. Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2025 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026. The new facility will feature highly automated production lines, enhancing existing metal processing capabilities while expanding into aluminum, zinc, and casting operations. In line with environmental sustainability initiatives, solar panels will be installed on the plant's roof to implement corporate sustainability principles.
"Despite current challenges including rising electricity costs, labor shortages, and global economic uncertainties, we firmly believe that investing in smart manufacturing and expanding capacity is essential for overcoming current limitations," Chairman Lu stated. "As Taiwan's largest commercial vehicle metal parts supplier, serving the automotive, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and wind power industries, this expansion will not only increase our existing capacity but also help us develop new clientele in the electronics industry, laying a solid foundation for our future development."
The new plant in Machouhou Industrial Park demonstrates not only the company's response to capacity needs but, more importantly, its determination to actively transform and innovate in the face of industrial changes. Through the establishment of smart production lines, World Known Precision will be able to better control quality, improve efficiency, and take on larger-scale orders, creating stronger momentum for operational growth.
