The manufacturing challenge of this type of engine mount lies in its complex three-dimensional geometry and the precise positioning of multi-directional holes. The product features a U-shaped load-bearing structure, requiring multi-axis CNC milling after casting to ensure that the parallelism, perpendicularity, and positional tolerance of each mounting surface meet stringent requirements.
The critical process requirements are concentrated in precision hole machining and geometric tolerance (GD&T) control. Multiple through holes must maintain positional accuracy with tight hole diameter tolerances, requiring high repeatability and positioning accuracy from the machining equipment. Additionally, tapping operations require specialized fixtures to ensure thread quality and concentricity. Electrocoating is applied prior to machining to provide corrosion protection on non-machined surfaces, meeting commercial vehicle-grade environmental durability requirements.
